Here are a few basic tips for optimizing your ad layout, and your page layout for adsense.
- Most people are reporting that medium or large rectangles near the top of your page will have the highest click through rate. Skyscraper ads on the right are also very popular.
You can actually put a leaderboard at the top, a skyscraper on the right (of left), and another leaderboard at the bottom. This gives you’re visitors plenty of tempting adsense ads to click through.
- nstead of having a site with multiple subjects you can try using separate domain names for each subject. There are people with 20 sites, or even more.
By separating your info over multiple web sites, each with their own domain name, you will be able to market and optimize each individual site.
- Be sure to make your ads match your site, and make the border color the same as the background color if you can. We’ve heard that this can increase your percentages, and it just plain looks good.
- Recently someone said that using heading tags with your keywords helps adsense target ads for your content… this might be worth a try.
These are nice ideas. Personally I like to put 3 adsense banners on my websites, once as its header, the second one in the middle of my content and the last one as my page’s footer.
The adsense code placed in the middle of the content will be the one getting the most exposure and clicks.
I would like to inform every one that Google terminated my adsense account with no notice (or any warnings what so ever). I was only hosting religious materials on my website, nothing about porn or anything severe.
Who is Google to dictate what content I get to host of my website, if they dont like religious materials then screw them! As of my revenue, I am applying a new way of generating income without any contextual ads and I am making slightly more this way.
