Google has confirmed today that an OTA Android 2.3 update for the Nexus One is on the way. The over-the-air update, nicknamed Gingerbread, will bring native Wi-Fi calling, a faster virtual keyboard, download manager and other features to the original stock Android phone. There will also be an improvement in power management when multitasking, a download manager and a higher-contrast UI.
