Today Apple released a pair of software updates to allow Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Leopard users take advantage of the advanced mouse features of the company’s new multi-touch Magic Mouse. The 64MB Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 for Snow Leopard requires OS X 10.6.1, while the 36MB Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 for Leopard requires OS X 10.5.8. Apple’s release notes simply state, “Install this software to take advantage of your Magic Mouse special features.”
Currently, Mac OS X 10.6.2 is still under development. Besides adding full compatibility with Apple’s new mouse, it also aims to fix a serious bug eating away users’ data in very rare cases.
