Finally! AT&T says it will activate iPhone multimedia messaging on Sept. 25. This allows you to send and receive photos, contacts, audio files, and location information. All you’ll have to do is download a software update, and you’ll be in business. The iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G will be able to handle multimedia messaging; the original 2G iPhone will not.

The Sept. 25 software update will be available through iTunes, and it will not be available for the iPod Touch or the original iPhone. The carrier also said it would be offering tethering in the future, but did not get into specifics about the launch date or pricing.

MMS service does not matter alot for the people who are using iPhone 3G or 3GS they are using the phone due to other features, so in case if MMS still not up for the iPhone it does matter alot to the world.. but now if MMS is coming… it is good nevertheless
