Install CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM On OnePlus 2 Android Phone

If you are the Oneplus 2 Android phone user and want to flash the CyanogenMod 12.1 Android Lollipop ROM on your phone. Now you can do this, the CyanogenMod 12.1 Custom ROM is now available for the Oneplus 2 users. All credit goes to the XDA member Grarak for creating this ROM. The CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with lots of feature which you can’t find on the OXygenOS. The ROM is quite stable and you can use it as your daily drivers. We are using the same from last three days and we are impressed with the performance of the CM 12.1 ROM. Some of the features which are not working on this ROM are Fingerprint, Laser Autofocus, Notification Slider and Enforcing SELinux. Here in this tutorial we’ll show you how flash the CM12.1 ROM on your Oneplus 2.

To get started, you need a rooted Oneplus 2 with TWRP recovery. Before following this guide do take the full backup of your Oneplus 2 and save it in some safe place. This guide is only for the Oneplus 2 user and doesn’t try this tutorial on any of other phones.

Install CyanogenMod 12.1 on Oneplus 2

Step 1. As we mention earlier to flash the CM 12.1 ROM on Oneplus 2 you need a rooted phone with the TWRP Custom Recovery. Read the guide here how to root and install TWRP on oneplus 2.

Step 2. After that download the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM for Oneplus 2 here. Don’t extract or unzip the file.

Step 3. Download the GAPPS package here and don’t extract the folder. You need top flash this file to install all the Google application on your Oneplus 2.

Step 4. Now move both the file on your Oneplus 2 internal memory.

Step 5. Once files are saved, boot your phone in TWRP recovery mode. See this how to boot in reocvery mode.

Step 6. Now from the TWRP recovery screen. Select the Wipe Option > Advanced Wipe and Wipe Cache/Data.

Step 7. After this go back to the main screen of recovery and select the Install option, select the CM12.1 file that you saved on step 2 and Flash it.

Step 8. After that Select the Gapps zip file and flash it.

Step 9. Once both the files are flashed, go back to the main screen of TWRP and select Reboot option to restart your phone.

Step 10. First boot will take some to apply the changes on your oneplus 2.
