Fix Missing Drive in Windows 7

Recently i Installed a Windows 7 in my Vista PC and After that i can,t find one of my Hard Drive, After lot of hard work finally i get it back :) . So here am posting a Tutorial How you can Get Back youe Missing Hard Drive in Windows 7. Its simple and Very Easy to get back the Drive.

1. Press [Windows], enter [diskmgmt.msc] and hit [enter] to open the Disk Management interface in Windows 7.

2. Now You can see all the hard drives and partitions of the computer system.

3. Select the partition which don,t have the Drive Letter.

4. Right Click on that Drive and Select “Change Drive Letter and Paths”

5. Now click the Add button and assign a drive letter to the partition.

After this your Missing Drive is Visible in Your Windows 7 Computer.

    Thanks for this! I was so excited to install Windows 7 but once it was installed I was sad to see only 4 of my 5 HDs.

    Do you know what causes this?

    I thought it was strange I could see my xp Drive.
    After following your steps I guess for some reason With Windows 7 being on C drive and windows xp my real c drive it couldn’t find it.
    Fixed worked, No my XP drive is B drive.

    I FORMAT MY XP SP2 & CHANGE IT TO WINDOWS 7 I DO 2 PARTITION c: d: BUT WHEN I FINISHED INSTALL THE W7 I CANT FIND MY DRIVE D:??

    When I right click on the Partition it just brings up HELP and takes me to Microsoft help regarding disk management.
    Using diskpart and setting id=0b the partition becomes visible in disk.
    management, but restarting the computer causes the D disk to vanish again.
    I have tried changing the letter but nothing works.
    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks man, I was pulling my hair out. I saw this action to change the drive letter but I wasn’t sure if I should touch it.
