Fission is a Firefox addon that displays a progress bar inside your browser’s address bar like Safari Style. As with all Firefox add-ons, installation is simple, although a restart of Firefox is required. The default progress bar is a simple grey but the colour can be changed or an image used instead.

There may be some problems if a different Firefox theme has been used. Three themes are known to work: Safire, Eternal Aqua Safire and Noia (Extreme). Patches have been written for three more themes: Apollo, Redshift, Wellrounded. We used it with the Azerty III theme without any problems.

You can also change the colour of the progress bar, and align it to the right or left using the options available. and, you can also change the background image of your address bar.

Get the extension here.
