Google is testing the new homepage with Fade in effect. Google is now making its fade-in homepage official and most users should start to see the ultra-minimalistic homepage from now on. When the site loads, you only see Google logo and the big search box, i.e. the minimalistic page. Once you move your mouse, you will see the additional links on the homepage. If you haven’t yet seen the new design you will do very soon. To be honest, you may not even notice the change at first glance, with the main difference being a fade-in of all options other than those relating to instant search.
If you don’t move the mouse and start typing your query the page will stay clear of any links with just the suggestion box popping out to spoil the fun. If you want to do something else, form the homepage except search you’ll have to move your mouse which you’d do anyway.

I have now started to use another search engine. This fade effect is the final straw for me. I just about swallowed the increase in the search box but this faint fade change is a disaster.
