Google Apps users noticed a new option in Google Calendar: read-only offline access to the calendars using Google Gears. That’s right—Google’s rolling out offline browser access to appointments, and, for once, Apps users get first dibs. Google also recently added offline functionality for Gmail, based off user feedback and technology needs and trends.
The feature isn’t available for all users yet. But Google seems to be adding it to Google Apps user accounts first, which is unusual since the general public often gets access to new features before the Google Apps crowd.
