When you try to sign in to Windows Live Messenger, you receive the following error message, 810003c1: We were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service.. Microsoft has shut off the Windows Live Messenger IM for users in the countries embargoed by the US hence Microsoft no longer offers Windows Live Service in your country. Cuba, Syria, Iran, Sudan, North Korea. So that the main reason you are geeting this Error.

So here is the Tutorial to fix error 810003c1 in MSN messenger

To fix this, login to hotmail.com with your passport (the account that you login to Messenger with).

Click the Settings button in the top right, then click “Account summary” from the bar on the left. On the second line of your information you’ll see “Country/Region”, and for some reason it will be set to something completely random.

So, click the “registered information” link under your date of birth, and scroll down to the Home Location drop-down list. Set it to your country (another country whose official language is the same as yours will also probably work), and save the settings. Restart Messenger and you should be able to connect immediately.
