If you’re the Oneplus X user then you can apply this update today. Here in this guide, we’ll show you how to Install OnePlus X OxygenOS 2.2.1 Update on both rooted and non-rooted phone. All you have to download one zip file on your phone and install the same. The process is very simple and takes a few minutes to complete the whole task.
Before following this guide do take the full backup of your phone and this guide is only for the OnePlus X users, don’t try this method on any other phones. Read all the instructions very carefully and follow the steps one by one on your phone.
Install OnePlus X OxygenOS 2.2.1 update
1st Method for the non-rooted Oneplus X users running on 2.2.0 with Stock recovery.
Step 1. Download the OxygenOS 2.2.1 OTA zip file here and place the file on your phones internal memory.
Step 2. Now Switch off your Phone.
Step 3. Now boot in recovery mode. Reboot into recovery by pressing power+volume down button .
Step 4 Once you are on stock recovery. Select English Language.
Step 5. Select Install from Local. And browse the OTA ZIP file that you save on your phone.
Step 6. Select the Zip and click on Install.
Step 7. Now the installation process will start and it will take some time.
Step 8. Once completed. Reboot.
2nd Method – For Rooted user running on Oxygen OS 2.2.0 with TWRP recovery
Step 1. Download OxygenOS 2.2.1 Full ROM Zip from here and put Zip file anywhere in the phone Internal Storage.
Step 2. Now Boot your phone into TWRP Recovery.
Step 3. Go to Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Select Dalvik, System, Cache -> Swipe to wipe.
Step 4. Now go to TWRP Home. Select Install > Select OxygenOS Zip > Swipe to Install.
Step 5. Go to TWRP Home. Reboot into System. Done.
Now your phone is running on the OxygenOS 2.2.1.

This Did Not Work For Me. I Have 2.1.2 Update And I Went To Recovery Mode And it Did Nothing. Like I Mean I Tried To Install It But It Said Installiation Failed! What Do I Do. I Downloaded The 2.2.1 ZIP And I Placed It Into The OTA Folder And Then I Tried To Put It Just Into The Internal Memory And it Said It Was Busy? No Sorry About My English. I Am Not An English Person Becasue im From Finland. Please Help Me Because i Really Do Want The 2.2.1 Update! Thank You 🙂
