   have downloaded iPhone1,2_3.1_7C144_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB) file, how do i update my iphone. after double click, it open up iTunes and does nothing

   @ Sudan

   If you have the Unlocked and Jailbreak Iphone, than don,t try to upgrade it, coz it will lock your Phone, and you can,t unlock it after.

   BTW to install the new Firmware click Shift+restore button in Itunes and select the new Firmware.

   NOTE:- Don,t update if you have Unlocked and Jailbreak iPhone

    I have a 1 st generation iPhone with 1.1.4 Firmware.

    I want to upgrade to Firmware 3.1 can I possibly just upgrade my itunes to the latest version and have the OS 3.1 downloaded as well so I could jailbreak it?

    I hope I could get a step by step instruction on how I could possibly accomplish it myself.

    I have renamed the download but it’s still in the .zip format…iTunes can’t read it from the folder it’s in when i press shift+restore. What to do?

    hey… i got a 3g iphone, 3.0 system on it. Unlocked. How do i get a 3.1 on it and still get it unlock?
