Most of the Internet Service Provider (ISP) have their own DNS and to serve within their user when access to internet. Open DNS is a free DNS service where for all user to access internet safer, faster and smarter.
Open DNS has announced a new service that allows users to browse the web by using keyword shortcuts. The new service allows people to create keywords that point to their favorite web sites.
Similar to how your browser has bookmarks, OpenDNS shortcuts let you pair a word with a URL so that when you type that word in your address bar, you’re taken to that website. These shortcuts work regardless of your OS or browser - they are dependent upon your OpenDNS-enabled network. Simply login to your account and setup the shortcuts.
To create shortcuts you can either login in to your OpenDNS account and use the system tools to create new shortcuts, or to add a shortcut while browsing there’s a Javascript bookmarklet available. Shortcuts can also take parameters which means a shortcut can take the form g Compiler where “g” is a shortcut to Google search and Compiler is the search term.
