Have a iPhone and want to baukup all Messages on youe Desktop, than here is Tool For your Syphone. Syphone is a freeware Macintosh utility for use with Apple’s iPhone. The program installs on your Macintosh and does not alter the iPhone in any way. This application lets you view, save, and back up your SMS messages. With Syphone you can now archive and view SMS conversations, including those that have been deleted from the iPhone.

The iPhone has a limit on the number of SMS messages it can store at one time. If this limit is exceeded, existing conversations must be deleted in order to make room for new messages. Syphone allows you to view and/or save any of these conversations, including deleted messages. It uses the familiar iChat format to display archived SMS messages. In addition, if you have multiple iPhones synced to your computer, Syphone allows you to view and archive messages from any of the iPhones.

Syphone allows an iPhone user with a Macintosh to:

# View synced iPhone SMS messages on your Macintosh.
# Archive SMS messages.
# Import/export SMS messages.
# View SMS messages offline in an iChat-like interface with selectable colors.
# Open Address Book contacts.
# View the number of sent and received messages for each contact.
# Support multiple iPhones.

Thanks for sharing this info. This is a very useful tip.

One thing you need to mention is that the software hasnt been updated for quite some time, and essentially stopped working as at iPhone OS 2.1 (YMMV). The developer has shown little interest in updating the tool, except to say it will be looked at after they update another product. This was a great little app, but unless something changes, I would look elsewhere.
