Motorola DROID official coming November 6th
Motorola and Verizon introduced the Droid Wednesday at a New York City press conference. The Droid phone is amazingly thin for a device with a slide-out keyboard. It is a half-inch thick, with a metal top and a brilliant 3.7-inch touch screen. In the hand, the Droid feels hefty, and it’s sliding keyboard mechanism is sturdy. Verizon just confirmed that the Moto Droid will arrive next week for $199 with a new, 2-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate. Customers will need a voice plan starting at $39 and a web and email plan for $29 per month.
Most of the smartphone’s features are now confirmed, including the 3.7 inch, 480 x 854 pixels capacitive touchscreen display, EV-DO Rev A connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, D1 video playback, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, Flash 10 ready HTML browser, 5MP autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, 16GB of storage space, MicroSD card support, and 1400 mAh battery.

High Tech Computer has introduced the HTC Tattoo, a new Android-based smartphone that comes with a variety of hardware features including a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and expandable microSD memory. Formerly known as the HTC Click, the Tattoo, we presume, gets it name from the customization options it offers and is being advertised as an Android phone for all. It’s the second phone from the company, after the HTC Hero, to use the HTC Sense user interface, which provides up to seven home screen panels that can be personalized with various widgets, shortcuts, and wallpapers.

T-Mobile USA will begin selling a new smartphone using Google Inc’s (GOOG.O) Android operating software in August, facing off against high-end devices such as Apple’s latest iPhone and the Palm Pre. Next Google Android device, called the myTouch. T-Mobile will announce the new smartphone Monday. It is the second smartphone the carrier has introduced that uses Google’s open-source mobile operating system, Android. T-Mobile introduced the world’s first Google Android phone, called the G1, last fall. And so far the company claims it has sold over 1 million devices.
