Here is the Tutorial Instruction to Unlock iphone 3G 3.1 with ultrasn0w:-
1. Jailbreak your iPhone 3.1 with PwnageTool 3.1
2. Run Cydia to install Ultrasnow. Select “Manage” tab on the bottom. Than touch on “Sources”.
3. Click edit button and Add following Repo URL
http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/
and touch on “Add Source”.
4. Now Cydia will automatically update your iPhone Sources.
5. Now search for ultrasn0w in Cydia and install it. This will Automatically Unlock your iPhone.
6. Reboot your iPhone 3G, Thats it.
