Dev Team released the new Pwnage tool 3.1.3 to Jialbreak iphone 3GS 3.1 on MAC. But this one is not apply for the windows users. But don,t worry here is the Guide which will help you to Unlock iPhone 3GS Firmware 3.1 on Windows. Yes i tried it this on my iPhone 3GS on Windows and it was working so smoothly. But only users with a previously Jailbroken iPhone 3GS should try this tutorial and yes it does not work for those who have an iPhone 3GS with Firmware 3.1 out-of-the-box. So here is the guide:-
Download all these 4 Rapidshare Links and Join with them HJsplit and Unzip it on your desktop. If you Are a MAC User than Read This tutorial :- Unlock Jailbreak iPhone 3GS 3.1 with PwnageTool 3.1.3

After Joining them with HJsplit and savie it on the Desktop do these steps.
1. Download and intsall iTunes 9, and then run it.

2. Connect your iPhone 3GS to the Windows PC.

3. Click ‘Restore’ while holding SHIFT key and select the Custom IPSW that you saved in your desktop.

4. Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you. Once everything is processed and OS boots up, install Ultrasnow, See below how to do that.

5. Start “Cydia” on your iPhone and click “Manage” tab on the bottom than “Sources” as seen in the screenshot below:
6. Click “Edit” and then on “Add”. Now enter a url source as seen in the screenshot below. Type “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com” and touch on “Add Source”.
7. Now Cydia will automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps.
8. After installation is completed. Search for “ultrasn0w” in Cydia and install it.
Thats it! now your iPhone 3GS 3.1 is Jailbreak and Unlock too. Enjoy it, and yes down, forget to Subscribe us feed Here and Follow us on twitter too.

Just so I’m sure I understand you…1) Back up my iPhone contents with iTunes. 2) Run through steps 1-5 if I only want to update my Jailbreak & not unlock. 3) Using iTunes I import my contacts & apps & media content. Is that correct?

thanks for the idea as I have tried going through cydia to unlock. My quesion is in order to add or download anything through cydia the phone must have some sort of serivce. So once I have the phone jailbroke, how do I get some sort of Internet connection so I can actually goto cydia and download ultrasn0w? Please let me know, unless it’s worth just waiting for a cleaner jailbreak?
And do I have to unlock the phone inorder to have a normal working jailbroke phone? Or are you telling me to follow step 5 to “just” unlock it? Cause I just want a jAilbroke phone not unlocked.
hey raj i need your help… my 3gs was out of box with 3.0 version … my phone was crashed when i was installing ‘iblacklist’ .. i found many ways but it was still not working after apple logo.. i decided to upgrade i thought my phone was factory unlocked but all went wronge and now my phone is locked due to baseband update .. will these steps make my phone work ? i mean will this UNLOCK my phone ??

If you have the Jailbreaken 3.0 or 3.01 than forst you have to download above custome firmware links of 3.1 and after the installation your phone is upgraded to 3.1 and Jialbreak to. Now after that you have to Unlock it form Step 5

I can no longer obtain the IBSS and IBEC files because I cannot restore the firmware to anything besides the 3.1 firmware – which I did not do. Can I jail break it with 3.0.1 firmware and then upgrade to this custom 3.1 firmware and obtain the IBSS and IBEC files when I am upgrading it through iTunes to 3.1?
Do I need the signature IBSS and IBEC files?
I can get the ECID number, but it does not download from the purplera1n website any longer. An error occurs. I guess purplera1n quit.

You might want to put that in your instructions that it doesn’t work on 3.1 since that’s what I’ve been trying to use it on. Now I’m just waiting for the others to come up with a jailbreak for 3GS 3.1 since I don’t need the unlock.

Yes this will not work for you, Coz you install the firmware from Itune. The Firmware that i given in the rapidsahre links is the Custom One. Which one is Jailbreak. So it has the Cydia. Which will help you to unlock your iphone

Pls look into my case:
My iPhone 3GS was jailbroken and unlocked, I upgraded to 3.1 by mistake, so it was on the non activated mode, I put it in the DFU mode plug to PC and tried upload firmware provided here using iTune, which failed for error: could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1604).
Now the iPhone is freezed in the upload firmware. I can not go back even to 3.1 from iTune with Apple.
Please reply to my post with your advice ?
It worked like a charm, thank you! Now when it reboots and is ready to use, Itunes offers to restore my backup, do I use it or will that restore the factory 3.1 and mess everything up?

DId we verify/calarify for 100% sure that if you do this, you LOSE all your previously jailbroken installed apps?
Im guessing losing contacts, pics, and MP3s is no big deal, as Im assuming you can restore them easily as long as you back everything up with itunes before you do this.
HOwever, how about all your jailbroken apps. Are they totally wiped if you do this??

Is your iphone 3GS and if yes and you are getting the error than do these steps
Solution for error 1604, 1602, 1601 (some 160x)
* Restart your computer and try again.
* Try another computer
* Try switching USB ports
* Uninstall and reinstall iTunes 9

As you said that now you are on Baseband 05.11.07. So it not possible now to Unlock it.

Yes I did download all the 4 links! join them with HJsplit. rename the zip to ipsw. I now have a file called: iPhone3G_S_-Custom31-Technobuzz.ipsw (306 mb)

I’m new to all this, please help me to clarify a few things:
1/ Jailbreak = installing special firmware/software to allow you to install and run applications on your iphone ?
2/ Unlock = unlock the phone from att and allow you to use different sim cards. In order to unlock your phone, you have to jailbreak it first.
I have a 3GS with OS 3.1 right out-of-the-box. I need to jailbreak and unlock the phone. Please provide me with the instruction.
