Update LG G4 to Android 6 Marshmallow and Root It

Update LG G4 to Android 6 Marshmallow

Step 1. Download the below mention 4 file on your LG G4 phone.

  • System — Link | File: LG-H81520A-Flashable.System.zip (1.33 GB)
  • Modem — Link | File: LG-H81520A-Flashable.Modem.zip (39.31 MB)
  • Boot — Link | File: LG-H81520A-Flashable.Boot.zip (13.08 MB)
  • Bootloader — Link | File: LG-H81520A-Flashable.Bootloader.zip (35.43 MB)

Step 2. Boot your LG G4 into recovery mode.

Step 3. Once your phone in recovery mode. Create a backup of your device with the BACKUP option.

Step 4. Now do a Factory Reset. Go back on TWRP’s main screen, tap on Wipe, and then do the Swipe action bottom to confirm it.

Step 5. Now tap on Install, and then locate the system file (LG-H81520A-Flashable.System.zip) and tap on it. This will flash the system zip file on your phone.

Step 6. After his flash the LG-H81520A-Flashable.Boot.zip file and after that rest of the two files on your phone.

Step 7. Once you have flashed everything, reboot your phone. The first boot will take some time to apply the Marshmallow update on you phone.

Root LG G4 on Android 6 Marshmallow

Step 1. Download the custom kernel with SuperSU here and move the zip file on your phone.

Step 2. Boot your LG G4 into custom recovery mode.

Step 3. Now, install the kernel file. Go to ‘Install’, select the modified kernel and swipe to flash the file.

Now reboot your phone. The SuperSU app will be available from the app drawer. Now your LG G4 is rooted on Android 6 Marshmallow.
