At VidCon 2010 conference today, YouTube announced compatibility for the type of video that you typically see on 25 foot IMAX screens. Just as a comparison, 1080p is 1920×1080 pixels and 4k is 4096×3072 pixels. In other words, YouTube is drastically improving their video quality and the battle between online TV and cable just got more interesting.
