Android 6.0’s factory images and OTA updates are already released for the Nexus family and now the Android One devices are also receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update. The OTA update is starting rolling out and most of the user in Philippines and India (Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO, Karbon Sparkle V) are receiving the OTA update. To Check the OTA update on your phone, go to the Settings > About Phone > System update. If there is no update then you have to wait for some more days if you can’t then you can flash the OTA update manually. If you want to flash the update manually, here is the tutorial which you can follow on your Android One phone and update the same with latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update.
This guide is for all the Android one users who are on stock recovery or TWRP recovery. But to update your phone you should be on the LMY48M update. If you are not on the LMY48M update then do not try this method, first update your phone to the LMY48M and after that try the below mention guide. The guide is in two parts – the First one for the user which are on the Stock recovery with the Non-rooted phone and Second one is for the rooted users with TWRP recovery.

Install Marshmallow on Android One with Stock Recovery
Step 1. Download the Marshmallow OTA Update zip file from the below mention links.
- Android One 1st Gen device, codename Sprout4 — Link | File: dc78fbefaf5f69cc4754751251d9ece094bc96e6.signed-sprout-mmx-MRA58M-from-LMY48M.zip
- Karbonn Sparkle V — Link
- Micromax Canvas A1 AQ4501 — Link
- Spice Dream Uno — Link
Step 2. Now move the zip file on your phone internal memory. Remember the location of it.
Step 3. Now boot your device into Stock Recovery mode. To boot into recovery, Power off your device, Press and hold both volume buttons with a power button. Select stock recovery if an option is available which will take you to the recovery. Press power button to select it. You will progress towards recovery mode.
Step 4. Once you are in the stock recovery, choose ‘install update from sd card’.
Step 5. Select the OTA file you just saved on your phone. Use the volume keys to navigate and power key to confirm the action.
Step 6. Now the flashing process will start on your Android One phone and this will take some time.
Step 7. Once the installation is completed, it will automatically reboot. Or go back and reboot the system.
That’s it. Now your phone is running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Install Marshmallow on Android One with TWRP recovery
Step 1. Compatible devices (Sprout4) – Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, Spice Dream UNO, MyPhone Uno and Symphony Roar A50 (8GB variant only).
Step 2. Download the Marshmallow update for Android One Sprout4 devices here
Step 3. Move the zip file on your phone internal memory.
Step 4. Boot your phone in recovery mode.
Step 5. Once your phone in TWRP recovery. Tap on Install > locate the Marshmallow update file and tap on it to select it for flashing.
Step 6. Once the flashing process is done, tap on Wipe Dalvik cache button, and then tap on reboot system button to restart the device.
